"Welcome to Hillside!"

People often ask “Why Hillside?” The answer is always a loud and clear “because it is essential!”. Students with dyslexia or other learning differences that impede their academic progress in a regular school setting deserve to be taught in a manner that allows them to gain the academic skills they need to become competent learners. This allows them to get their hands on the ‘bar’ of academic expectations.

Once behind in school, students experience that academic ‘bar’ to continually move beyond their reach. Discouragement and frustration may develop as early as kindergarten. Research indicates that children who are behind in 3^rd grade are likely to be behind in 9^th grade. Hillside provides the instruction needed to close that skills gap and help children move into the future with competence, confidence and healthy self-esteem.
